Check Engine Light, No Codes???
Check Engine Light, No Codes???
My check engine light came on today in my 06 with 10,300 miles so I thought I would check for codes. Everything I have read on this site says turn the key to the on position three times without starting the pickup and read the mileage bar. . . I have tried this several times and am not getting my codes. I did the gage cluster check and received an S11.3, a C44.7 and a 26.4, but I can not get the other code check to work. Any suggestions?
I have been having the same problem with my 06. I cycle the key 3 times and the engine check light then goes off. It has done it twice. If it does it one more time, I'm taking it to the dealer to find out what in the world is going on. Also, I did have someone tell me that it is because the engine is new and breaking in, and has something to do with the pcm. Not sure how all this plays into part, but like I said if the light comes on one more time, I'm taking it to the dealer.

I took my pickup in today and had the dealer check the codes. . . Ambiant Temp. Sensor. He told me they just received a TSB and have a re-flash for the ambiant temp sensor. He also told me that you can't check codes by turning the key on and off in the 06's???

My 06 just had check engine light come on today after it sat for 5 day's. I don't know if that has enything to do with the check engine light coming on or not. I guess I will be takin mine in monday morning. I will post any findings later.
check engine lite
mine came on and i took it to the dealer. had a code of P0191 come up. they downloaded something to the PCM and told me that there would be software coming out in june with a TSB for a reflash for the PCM.

Me too. 2006 with 1750 miles. Sat for a few days, now check engine light is on. Runs just fine, though.
Cycling the key on and off does nothing in terms of showing codes.
Maybe I also have the ambient temp sensor problem related to the TSB.
Should I just drive it with the light on until June when the fix is available?
