Cetane rating

I have noticed a increase rattle (timing advance) with the so called new fuels that are sold now. I had to back off my tone ring setting. The cetane rating must be going to the dogs. Has anyone else noticed an increase rattle?

I notice a little more rattle with my truck now too........but I attribute that to it breaking in. I recall several posts on here about our trucks getting a little louder with more miles. They are still much quieter than the 2nd gens, but naturally become louder than when new.

Fuel is blended to match the climate for the area. Could it be due to the increased air temps?

Has the fuel changed? I thought the formula was the same but they had to put the sticker on the pump so it would not be used by 2007+ vehicles which have higher emission standards.
I have noticed increased rattle but did not associate it with the fuel. I was thinking I have a dirty or bad injector causing it. It is most prominent when I am idling in gear.

My understanding is the FEDs have required the change to ULSD for the 07 vehicles. They have from end of June 06 to September to make the change over. So to flush out the system (stations that sell less will take longer to empty there tanks) the wholesellers are sell ULSD as of June. Therefore we have all been using it since the stickers went on the pumps!
