I went through the same thing and gave the dealer about $180 for an OEM. Then I took it to a drive line shop in Tulsa to have the entire shaft rebuilt and balanced. The guy doing the work heard how much I shelled out and measured the thing. He then got out his bearing catolouge and found an exact match in dimension and drop. They can't reference it by your vehicle but they can get you one if you bring the whole assembly. I think the carrier bearing was about $45 and I wound up spending less on an entire driveshaft rebuild than Just the OEM carrier bearing. If you have any trouble let me know and I'll try to find the part #. Hope this helps.

was it a heavier duty one or the same?
the oem is too flexible.

I also would like greasable u - joints

it seems to be. the rubber support is about twice as deep. it was the rubber that failed on mine. the bearing itself was fine but the failure in the rubber that held it was allowing for a lot of bounce.

one more thing, you might want to do a search and see about a shim. seems like i read on here that the carrier bearings ride about 5/16" too high in the 4WD models. i didn't check in to that and wish that i had. so far so good on my new one though.

These guys have a polyurethane mounted bearing. Never heard of anyone using one though...

took whole drive shaft to catco today
they will rebuild it with heavy duty parts, greasable u - joints and balance

rear u joint only 20,000 miles old and already dry and seized (oem junk)
my balancer was also puking oil all over the bottom of my truck

I agree the oem is junk, carrier flex's all the way over to the fuel tank and the drive shaft hits the shield around the tank. I am on my third one.. Do a search on here I asked about this same problem and a member from here gave me a tip on were to get a heavy duty one. Oh here it is http://www.oneupoffroad.com/ouoparts/drivelinedrop.html
