Can this happen...?

Can running down a washboard road cause the t-case (electric operated) to jump into 4wd? Went down a very hard washboarded road around noon, and then later that same day went to turn on a street and the truck started bucking. I pulled over and realized the **** was actually turned to 4H. I never turned or hit it while I was driving. All I could think of was that bumpy road earlier in the day and that the t-case was hanging on the edge and finally tripped.

Or, is there something else I should be looking for?

Would that cause the **** to actually move too? Figured it wouldn't without actually turning it even though it may of engaged.

I had my 06 megacab go into 4x4 on its own as well but the switch did not move and the light did not come on. I lucaly enough was literaly pulling into the dealers lot when it happend. I had only had it a few weeks when a budie and I where out for a ride and decided to swing threw and see what tehy had. When I turned the corner on dry pavement the truck came to an abrupt halt. It was as if fI had hit the breaks hard but I hadent. I straightend the wheels out and it started moving again. I turned and it stoped again. After messing with the know I could make it try and go back to 2wd but it wouldent actualy do it. It would got straight back to 4wd teh second I stopped messing with the ****. I left it at teh dealer and took a van home for the nite. A couple days latter they called and said it was done. When I asked what it was they said it was an AC sensor. They explained that with the new BUS system the electonics on the 06 and newer trucks use that all teh sensors comuncate on a mutual network and the ECM makes sense of it and does what the sensors say to do. Well when the AC sensor failed it mimiked the 4WD swich. Instead of just dying it was sending out a signal that the ECM was inerpreting as the 4WD **** being turned. Dumb I know but that was over 2 years ago and it still works fine after replacing the AC sensor.

A few times I've accidently turned the **** thinking it was the a/c ****. Then I freak out until I realize what I've done. Sometimes I wish it was like on my old '03, and a manual shifter back on the floor.

Thanks for the heads up on the A/C sensor. I'm having issues with the system (leak), and have been running the defrost with the a/c button off (not engaged) forgetting it still ran the compressor (my other post). Think this could cause the sensor fault/ecm confusion?
