Bypass filters

What are some brandnames for these bypass filters. Any of them with a respectible price tag. The FS 2500 product looks like a winner until you see the price..

thanks Jamie

can somebody explain how these bypass filters work.

From what i read it extends your oil change intervals and get alot of the soot out of the oil keeping whare and deposits to a minamum but how does it work I mean how is it taht u get the oil to flow threw it?

From the pics it looks like it attaches to he oil return line on the turbo threw the filter than back into the head via modified oil cap is this correct?

thanks for any feed back

P.S. sorry to barge in and take over the tread with a new ?

This pretty much sums it up as to what a bypass sets out to accomplish: http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/bf.aspx

I have the Amsoil BMK-11, that's the model recommended for the 2006 models. I am very pleased with it, does it's job, was easy to install-couple hours. I picked up off the stock oil filter mount/tap there is a plug you pull. Then returned to/thru the valve cover cap. The kit comes with everything you need for installation of hoses and filter mount, cap is separate item, filter is separate item. I made a bracket and mounted mine on the firewall, some say it makes a lot of noise in the cab when installed on the firewall. Not really enough to be noticed as far as I can hear, and my hearing is very good.

My oil is certainly cleaner than stock, transparent on the dip stick. Again, I find this to be a good bypass system.

Also check out www.oilguard.com - they are second to none. Maybe even the best! Check the price of replacement filters - there's a big spread. The toilet paper units do great and are the cheapest but they plug quicker and has to be changed often. That's not really bad cuz you get to add some fresh oil each time. I've run my Oilguard 25k miles and the UOAs were still excellent. Craig

Can the bypass filter remove soot particles from engine oil? Will a bypass filter keep my engine oil from turning black?

oilguard Bypass

This is my kit, It filters down to 1 micron. The cost for the kit is around $330.00 + shipping. Filters are priced reasonably considering you do not have to change out the filter untill you change out the oil Unlike Frantz) and they (racor brand) have been around forever.

I had an Oil Guard on my 03' 6.0 POS and it was a very good product.
You can also have them do checks on samples and they have a site you can get results on and see how your engine is doing.
Great service.

The more completely the filter works the more often it will have to be changed.
