BMK-11 Install Pics

Got my single by-pass installed, using the nice mounting bracket from Tri-County Mold & Machine. Just thought I would post some pics.

How close is bottom of filter to exhuast manifold? Looks like the oil could get pretty hot in that location if its to close

dodgezilla04-correct- the hose on the inlet side connects to the 1/8 npt plug on top of the oil filter housing.

sr53-there is a probably three inches from the bottom of the filter to the exhaust manifold.

Very nice install. The BMK, did it come with the hoses and the oil cap? or, did you have to order them separately? I am assuming they might be part of the kit. I do like the bracket, could you please supply information, ie:website and p/n. I have been planning to install the BMK, have seen several installs, this is nice and clean. You did a good job.

3 inches? Not trying to cause a stir but you should take another look. I installed mine the same way, mounting the filter as high as I could (same filter, but homemade bracket) and have just enough room to spin it off for removal, probably about an inch above the manifold. Now about the heat issue, so far none noted as the filter sits above the heat shield. I can put my hand on it and it is no hotter than the full flow.

smokeman- i stand corrected- i took an educated guess last night. just went to measure it. i have two inches of clearance! no problem with the heat.

CD in NM- the hoses come from amsoil in the bmk-11 kit- the oil cap coes from amsoil also- but is extra. the amsoil kit does not come with 90 degree fittings- like the blue ones in my pic. i ordered them from jegs and summit racing. (i did not like the way the hoses were-without the 90 degree fittings-so i ordered them and redid the hoses)
the bracket comes from tri county mold and machine

http://www.tricountymachine.com/
it is a small family company-no credit cards accepted-must send a check.

guys- thanks for the compliments! install wasn't bad at all. took my time to make it look good! took around two hours from start to finish.

Hey rjm022.

Thanks for the info, I think I am going to persue the bracket asap. I like your install, you did an excellent job. I have a Jeggs catalog around here somewhere I think, the do have a website too. The BMK-11 is easy, I just became an Amsoil dealer. Am presently building a shop with lift and retail sales area, then I will stock this stuff.

Know anyone that is using the billet oil filter housing adapter and the hoses from Tri County Machine? Looks pretty beefy. Think there would be any drawbacks to using this type setup compared to the oil filler setup? Sorry, new to the game.

does that kit completely do away with the stock oil filter or just adds to what you have? the install does look nice.

I think you put it too close to the exhaust manifold, just my opinion

There is plenty of space...
I had a rubber 90 1/4" from the manifold for 125k and it never even changed color or hardened.
