Lightbulb to buy a clutch or not

I have a smarty that i just bought for my truck. I would like to run it on level 7,8,or 9 but dont want to left stranded without a clutch. I want to eventually get a southbend but dont have the $$$ yet. would it be ok to run it high every once in a while or should I wait till I get a heavy duty clutch. all opinions appreciated .

I'd wait. Depending on how hard you are on it, you could slip it in the upper levels pretty easy.

Stay on the lower levels if you are not ready for a clutch. I thought I could use some restraint and only use the upper levels "every once in a while" My clutch went from bad to worse in a hurry. now I have a Southbend DD on order to be here by the end of the week and I can quit stressing that it going to leave me stranded

i like my smarty alot better than my SC. the power is a different feeling that takes a little getting used to if you have run the SC for a little while. max advertised hp output is 170 RWHP. i think the new hot version or whatever it is will be up there pretty good. yes you can adjust your speedo. it takes seconds instead of minutes like the SC. doesnt do the fog/high beam that i know of, certiain programs have boost fooling software, its a programmer so it wont defuel at certain temps since it has no way to monitor, thats what gauges are for, yes it is upgradeable...just download them from the madselectronics website and then into the smarty. get one, youll love it

I am dissapointed in my SC but when I bought it it was the only thing available for my 07 that would allow me to adjust my speedo. How does the smarty compare to a TST box?

i dont know how it would compare to a tst, but isnt that for top end, or low end, i dont remember. the smarty is a very versitile programmer that has great power throughout the power band and can also be used to stack later since it has the timing/no timing feature. if you were closer, id let you try mine out. and i was disgusted w/ SC web of deceit when i bought mine not to mention the udder ignorance of some of their customer service people. seemed nice enough, but i think they have to many irons in the fire and wernt deleivering on the promises they had made

at first i thought the SC made more power than the smarty on 7 but once i got used to how it i like it alot better. that was before i changed to mod trq managment and that made it alot better. when you mash the motor now, the people behind you are not going to be able to see and youll be laying down some rubber. i love it
