Bought with no air filter. Truck running very rough HELP!!!
I've dumped about $5k in mostly parts , little labor into my 07 between 115 and 125k miles, with the truck being impeccably maintained over its entire life and I haven't touched the front end/steering.
IMO, 100k-150 k is where all the ancillary stuff needs replaced. The upside is one shouldn't have to spend a dime on the engine internals, ever really.
So if youre looking at thousands into the engine AND all the other stuff coming up, dump it if you have the means to get a new(ish) truck.

I bought the truck with 10K miles on it and I doubt that the injectors were replaced by the original owner. Although it is certainly a possibility though.
After a rebuild should I be expecting my truck to be extremely reliable? That's all I want at this point honestly. I would even consider getting a new truck if that's what it takes but I would want to be up front about the oil loss issue if I trade it in.
That's really what it comes down to: Should I get a new truck and be upfront about the symptoms of my truck OR take my truck in and fix whatever is needed.
Any thoughts on what you would do?
