whats your opions. its my buddies 99..... leaking antifreeze. looks like it might be in the oil to..

check both sides of the front lower block normally below injection pump.

Head gasket failures through the water jacket only are pretty uncommon, since it's a low pressure system. But, water can travel a long way before you see it. It could be coming from the water pump.

Clean the block really good with hot water and a good cleaning solution. After it dries well, dust the gasket areas with baby powder or corn starch. Then run the engine for a while and look for leaks; they will show up as dark spots in the powder.

You can also buy flourescine dye kits to find leaks.

Looks like a cracked 53 block. Search Cummins 53 block and you can find a ton of info, to include to repair kits.

thanks for the info guys, it is definatly the block. been doing some searching on how to fix it, found lock and stitch and jb weld. my buddy seen how expensive it is for a new block so its time to get rid of his truck.......
