Blowing white smoke on startup
Blowing white smoke on startup
I bought my smarty tuner for my 04.5 cummins about 4 months ago. It was in January so it was cold and i’ve been used to a little bit of white smoke because of the cold, but now that it’s may and starting to warm up i’ve noticed some smoke still happening. It oddly enough doesn’t happen in the morning when it’s a little cooler and the heater grid runs but any time I leave it sitting for over and hour It will start easy but then blow a decent cloud of white smoke and idle a little rough for 20 seconds. Is it something I should be concerned about or is some smoke with a tuned truck normal?
Yep, returned to stock and still happening. I just changed the fuel filter about 2k miles ago to a baldwin 3 micron. I’ve read some more and it could be some bad diesel that I got recently. Any ideas on good additives to clean injectors or should I just flush it and hope it goes away in a tank or two?
