It is 750 watts. Most people buy a timer if they leave at the same time every day, and set it for 2-3 hours before you leave. I leave mine plugged in all the time, because my hours are so weird.

HINT: Make sure you UNPLUG it before you leave.

I've always wanted to invent a "docking" attachment so you could just drive up to a device that has contacts that easily match yours. I was working on one and it was going quite well until the grand daughter tested it out for me. OSHA (grandma) did not appove and that idea was scrapped. The grand daughter recovered from "shock therapy" nicely.

You might want to look into magnetic connections. I was thinking of the same and came up with this idea from my crock pot. It has magnetic connections and it works. I was thinking of buying a cheap crock pot and cutting the AC plug off it and trying to wire it into my heater. So if i do take off with it pluged it, it will just pop off.

I plug mine in when I get home and roll up the extension cord, drive to work and plug it back in again. I do it for 2 reasons, it drives like crap when it's cold and I'm a sissy, I work in cold all day and I want heat....now.

Now you did it. I took my wife's crockpots apart. Boy was she hot! Then I told her I would get her a new one for Christmas. Now she is REALLY hot!

I'm pretty sure they are 750w, I leave mine plugged in all the time. It really only costs pennies.

I know I have seen many Ambulances and Fire Engines in my time with an Auto Eject Plug made by Kussmaul, Inc. I believe. When you start teh vehicle, a hard plastic rod forceably pushes the plug out so you don't drive away with the cord attached.

I have never forgot to unplug my trucks, but I am guilty of not unplugging the AMbo. one time.....In a rush, ran right by the plug and paid it no attention. I guess if you or DC could find a way to integrate something like this into the bumper, might save some future damage. But I suspect the Auto Eject plugs are pricey.

I plug mine in when I get home and night and unplug it in the morning. I don't think it hurts having it plugged in all the time. If it does, someone please let me know. BART

I don't *think* it does, but I only plug mine in when I get ready to go to bed for the evening.
