Yeah Willie Nelson is now marketing biodiesel. I have a diesel burning furnace which I would be happy to try out bio diesel. Putting it in my '03 CTD would require more information and input from all you guys so c'mon with your thoughts. Thanks all!

i've run B20 avalable from the fuel pumps before... no difference in power/sound/economy/smell...

I've been running Willie's bio-diesel (B20) for a couple of tanks now. Haven't really noticed any difference other than cleaner burning smoke.

I've been running around B50 for five or six tanks now - not a problem at all minus a very clogged fuel filter on the first tank. I found that to be a bit odd because I only had 9K on the truck then, but its been smooth sailing since then. I carry a spare filter in the back just in case now.

I have run more that 800 gallons of B20 through my truck. No negative side effects have been seen or heard. I'd have run more but I have never lived closer than 2 hours from a bio pump...

I've burned 4400 gallons of b100 at this point. Much of it was blended to b20, but in my tdi I ran b100 for 35,000 miles exclusively. It's typically great stuff, if you can get astm spec biodiesel. With something like pre-blended b20 at the pump, I would not even think twice possum! Go for it, at least 20% of your money will be giving the middle finger to the middle east!

Apparently there is a b20 public pump opening here in Cleveland next month. That should be exciting, although it's in a crappy area. At this point we just have b100 for $3/gal. It's sure nice to have an aux tank with a valve so I can just keep it full of b100 and flip the valve to make whatever blend I like

I run B20 whenever I can. Hard to say for sure, but I think the motor is a bit quieter. Hard to say if that's the bio part, as the fuel stop is also known for good quality D2.

It's definitely the b20 steven. Our ctd's aren't very sensitive to fuel at all - but the TDI I had and the E300 I do have are quite sensitive - as they are engineered around higher cetane eurodiesel. They really respond to the 50 cetane minimum fuel I am lucky enough to have access to - much quieter idle. However, when you throw some b20 in there, it's night and day difference due to being in the proper cetane range, and the much higher lubricity.

I think so, but I can't quantify it. There are times the truck purrs, others where it doesn't. I can't narrow it to fuel all the time.

I wish it was easier to get this stuff. We've got one fuel stop and it's buried in an industrial park near the airport.

I go here, and I see a dot that implys there are a fuel stop near where I'm going this weeekend. But I don't know which of the dozens of dinky towns it's in. Making it nearly impossible to find it.

For the record - I haven' t noticed much difference in sound when running b20 in my cummins either - although I know the injection system is loving that extra lubricity! In the benz or tdi it is night and day quieter.

Ya, I click on the state and I get a huge list. Now I know I'm going thru SW Wisconsin. I can see there are stations in the area. Which towns are they in?

It would be nice to get a state map, then be able to click on the dot and find the station... It's tougher when I'm traveling further away...don't know the area.

I started working on a Garmin waypoint file for each station, but it's darn painful to find given the address->location lookup isn't that hot.

I hear ya - get on mapquest and just type in the towns and it will show you where they are on the map... Otherwise maybe email the biodiesel.org people and make the suggestion. I think you make a valid point - which I missed earlier
