Big Line Kit and 2um Cat Filter on a 2007

Well anyway, it's the Wix version of the 2um Cat fuel filter. The mounting bracket is the best part:

It took me quite awhile to gen that up. Installed:

It snugs in there pretty well without touching anything and plenty of room to get it on and off easily. And it's a darn near straight shot into the CP3:

The plug on top will eventually be replaced with a fitting for a fuel pressure gauge. I did hook up a test gauge after installation just to check and saw only 5psi. Does that sound right?

If that's with a stock fuel pump then yes.... at least that's the reading I used to get when I ran a stocker. Was able to suck it down to zero kinda easily.

This truck is basically stock, fueling-wise, so I'm not worried about it at this point if that is the normal inlet pressure the CP3 is supposed to be seeing.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere recently in one of these looong threads about the in-tank pump and year-to-year changes, yada, yada, where they said the stock lift pump ramps up based on sensing pressure/flow demand? I guess I just really need to get a fuel pressure gauge installed...

8 psi at CP3 inlet at idle, 4psi normal running speed, 0psi WOT....with similar 2um filter upstream of the gauge.

A friend of mine who is banned here recently emailed me about a fuel pressure issue he was having. He had no pressure on his electronic Autometer gauge. We thought it was the gauge itself or possible the sender. Turns out a wire had corroded off of his Walbro fuel pump. He drove for 3 days with just the cp3 sucking fuel thru his pump and filters. Never went WOT but never had a hiccup either.
Good to know...

The test gauge I used has a 100psi scale, so the reading I saw was just moving it off the stop, probably not very accurate at that level. I imagine it's fine for now.

I was told the other day that with my 06 that acceptable fuel pressure was between 8 and 15 PSI, all mine tested was 5 PSI, so if all yours is buildin is 5 i would look at changin the pump
