Dave, see the picture above. You might want to try removing the check ball and restrictor for better cooling. Took 15 to 20 degrees off Hoot's temps and stopped his spiking temps.

 

I have been measuring the temps at the test port on the passengers side.. Live in South Texas and its been 100 - 105 lately.. Trans temp as always been 170 - 180 after driving a while.. For years.. Gets close to 200 in town traffic.. For years.. Stock trans and built trans..

Question on drilling the check valve. What about metal shavings???
