I am getting really paranoid about the ujoints and balljoints. the ujoints are squeaking, and when I turn left or right there is a slight cracking sound, worse in 4wheel drive.

so I want to get them all fixed. I called a shop, they say about a grand for everything, which I dont feel like paying obviously. I have posted a couple times, and everyone seems to think its doable on my own, I just need a ball joint press. is this something I can rent/buy? do I need a special tool for the ujoints?

can anyone point me to instructions on replacing all this stuff? I have about 12 days off in july, and plan on doing it all then.

Start soaking them now with penetrant especially the unit bearing.
Get a ball joint press from Harbor Freight. that'll work for ya.
