I have been running GDPs 2-micron setup for a while now with no issues, so I'm sure the 5-micron Baldwin will be just fine.

Heck I've known a few(not my truck)that have gone 30k and didn't look bad.All depends on whats in the fuel.Only way to REALLY know if 10k or 20k is ok is with a gauge etc.Book said UP TOO 15k.I'm kinda a once a year or 15k which over is first and on this truck its easily been the once a year.I'm NOT pulling this 7 micron just cause I got a new 5 out as it only has 2k or so on it.

I change my 10-micron factory units at 7,500 miles whether they look dirty or not. I haven't changed my 2-micron yet, but I will at 15k miles, whether it needs it or not. I need to change them on a set maintenance interval or I may neglect them.

Filters in general have a MAX efficently somewhat dirty not new and clean and not stopped up.Talked MANY a diesel(and other) owners to stop changing AIR FILTERS every oil change.(look,if ok keep using)Waste of money and not getting the MAX out of the filter or filtering.Thats MY thoughts.

I normally will go by my fuel pressure gauge. I am not scheduled to change it until 40,000 miles. That's 3,200 miles away. I won't go to the new 5 Micron until probably after summer or even later. Until then I will watch the FP gauge. Normal pressure keep driving.

It was actually one of Hounddog's local buddies that found them. I have 2200 miles before I install my first one.

i guess my only question would be, is there any loss of fuel pressure with these?

Sorry to spoil here but PF7777 has been 5 micron for a long time. This could be just an updated part number for ULSD like Fleetguard did.

that does not bother me it's still the only 5micron that will fit the factory canister right???
smallest fleetgaurd goes is 7micron right???
I don't care what part number it is as long as it has the specs listed in the beginning of the thread...
1-2 Micron Nominal
5 Micron to absolute at a 98.75% efficiency

The 5 Micron to absolute at 98.75% efficiency is what you are looking for. The Fleetguard is only 7 Micron to absolute at 98.75. You have to have the flow (volume) with the smaller filtering capacity.

I will let everyone know when I change mine. I will see if we have a big pressure drop. My truck normally idles at 9.75 to 10 psi fuel pressure with the 7 Micron Fleetguard.

I would think the 5 micron will be fine for unmodified trucks with the stock lift pump if proper maintenance is followed.

I will install the 5 micron filter when the GDP pump is in.

i am looking at both on the internet, fleetguard and baldwin. they both cross to each other. we know that they are interchangeable, but the fleetguard site says the fs19800E is a 7 micron, but baldwin and associated diesel does not give a micron rating for it. obviously, i believe you and the spec sheet. but can you post it so we can read it too? i cant seem to find much more than the dimensions of the filter. thanks.

i have been running the fleetguard E for a few months now, but need to get better filtration.
