Baldwin Fuel Filter-O Ring

I switched to the baldwin about a year ago.The engine seemed to have a fair amount of injector rattle, but ran good.It seemed as though the injectors were getting air in them,so i tightened down the fuel top more, checked and tightened the injector lines, all seemed to help.Still not satisfied ,i put a mopar fuel filter o ring in replacing the baldwin o ring, the filter top tightened down totally different, truck is now super quiet with little rattle.Wondering if there is a sizing issue with the Baldwin, any thoughts?Note i had the Baldwin out twice thinking the seal was not right.

Good awareness, man you got me thinking now(dangerous).

I accidentally blew the lid off my factory fuel filter canister several months ago(squeezed the return line on my Walbro). That action did remove some of the plastic threads from the filter canister lid. The lid seemed to thread right back on to the canister, and all appeared ok. Now remembering back, my injector rattle has been more pronounced, even added more 2 stroke oil, thinking the Valvoline may not have been as good as the Super Tech.

I believe I will order a new cover for the filter canister. Could it be this simple?

With positive pressure in the canister I would imagine there would be fuel leaking from the top if there was an o-ring issue.

As a note always replace the o-ring when the cap is removed.

I haven't had any issues with the o-ring on my Baldwins, and I've been through about 6 of them.
