Bad transfer case?
My truck makes a lot of “drive-shaft” noise when shifting gears. It seems like changing the u-joints have solved this problem for many members here.
Today I had my wife hold the brake, while the truck was in gear. She then let the clutch out a little, then engaged it really quickly. While she did this, I tried see if there was play in the u-joints. But it looked good. The “clanking” noise seemed to come from the transfer case. Any advice on what I should do? I have about 69,000 miles on it now. Trip to the dealership?
Thanks for any help!

The TC will be covered under the 7/70 warranty.
The TC is actually a pretty easy/straightforward part to change out if you do it yourself.
Check the fluid also, maybe your clutch is going out?

I've never checked the fluid. I'll do that before I take it in. I guess I'll remove my VA as well.
What a bummer. I hate for the truck to be torn apart. But I can't afford to buy a new TC.
