Here we go again...

Well I had to take my truck on that dreaded drive to the dealer today... A few things I just did'nt think were right.
1st off the tranny seems to be fluttering from 1st to 2nd gear and shifts through the others really sloppy.
2nd Is the same thing I've read alot of other threads about... clicking noise at cold start.
3rd My truck's fuel economy has been decreasing a bit. just did a service on the fuel filter trans filter air filter and it has barely been 3000 miles since an oil change.
Any advice would be appreciated.

11mpg is not right. Mine was getting 14mpg and then started the white smoke/shutter at start up. Took it in and had 2 injectors that were "underperforming". After they replaced them I started getting 18mpg consistantly on the highway.

Possible injector problems was the first thing I mentioned to the dealer, due to a the infamous clicking noise I get on start up. But, they don't hear that either... I don't know what else to do. I drive this truck daily and can gauranty that is not operating to spec in more was than one.

There was some discussion of the ticking noise the other day. The source was a plastic clip used to secure the injector lines. I believe it was on 4, 5 or 6, I can't remember.

I did some research the night before I took the truck in, and had read about that plastic clip thing, ( I even mentioned it to the dealer) but to me the noise sounds internal. I could check the clips if I can find'em but I just don't think it's the source.
Pull U 2 I couldn't agree with you more on the dealer here. I've got a buddy that's a service manager at another dealer it's just a little inconvienant. To me I should'nt have to go out of my way for decent service. I'd love to check out your truck and have a drink I'll be around all weekend, exept I am going to Truckfest early tommorrow. If you wanna go it's in Ontario at the convention center. Supposably the biggest yet, should be a good time and exellent pricing on all the goodies for the truck.

We should meet up then. Truckfest is a annual event that 4wheel Parts puts together where all their vendors and product manufacturers come out and provide product demos, huge discount pricing, and give-aways. There is all kinds of custom trucks, Jeeps, race trucks, and Monster trucks. (the mighty Banks/Kore truck was there last year and the Kore race beast was there the yeatr before) It's a pretty good time lots to look at More info at 4wheelparts.com/events

My truck has always ticked when cold. I kept an eye on the oil level and fuel mileage, and never noticed any problems. I am getting about 18mpg mixed, would be better if I kept my foot out of it. 11mpg tells me something is wrong. I am running a Quad Std, usually on 60hp setting, muffler delete, and moded my airbox with a 4" pvc elbow & 5.5 pipe to replace the factory baffle.
