Back in Action
I have been out of the Cummins market for a while now, and just bought an 07 5.9 QC short bed all stock with low miles. It is an auto 4x4. With all this electronic BS nowadays....who can answer some basic questions for me ?
What is the trans number for the autos in the 5.9 ? Anything to watch out for ? This is my very first auto trans and am skeptical about it.
Where can I find out the rear gearing ratio at? Its not on the window sticker other than being an 'anti-spin'
What turbo would be on this truck and does it have a silencer ring on it like the old HX 35's did ?
What kind of fuel pump are on these trucks now ? In tank of external like the old lift pumps were?
TPS on it ?
Tips or things to look out for ?

Most likely 3.73, I think it's in the glove box on a label. (If I recall 72mph at 2k RPM is 3.73)

Other than a cracked body on an injector (Which was obvious) every issue I've had, set a code that was easy to diagnose.
I have 140K I've done 4 injectors, 2 FCA's, 1 Tranny, 2 brake light switches, 1 mutli-function switch, the rest was all front suspension or normal wear parts Brakes/Batteries, etc. I feel like I'm forgetting something mechanical but it must not have been too bad if I forgot it.
