After you pull the hubs and ANTISIEZE them, they come out virtually by hand. I can pull an axle on mine in 15-20 minutes now (1st time, huge PITA!). I 'm sure it can be done in place as stated but on the bench has to be easier.

I have done the axle u-joint replacement as in my first post a couple more times without removing the axle.

I now have the Dynatrac and have not replaced a single axle u-joint since.

Hope that helps

I'm not sure if its covered but if you take it to the dealer they will 99% of the time destroy the hub bearings trying to get them out and then you will have to pay for those

My old school method for those axle joints is to get the shaft out and take a cutting torch to the joint and cut it just under each cup, thus dislocating each cup from the body of the joint. Then press out each cup and install new joint. Saves a lot of time.

if u still have a warranty they r covered. they did mine over the winter and replaced them and the axle shafts and stubs cause i drove it a while before bringing it in. and i think they finally figured out how to get the hubs off without destroying them cauz they didnt destroy mine, ive never seen hubs with that much rust on them. only cost me the $100 deduct.

I agree Torch is the only way. I Could not see using a press to get the U joints out of the axel in the truck. My clips were so rusted I could tell they were on the u joints. I had to heat up the cups just to press them out of the axel after I burnt the middles out of the u joints. I think I should move to where they do not use salt on the roads. In Canada it is salt and more salt.
I would like to see some pictures with someone doing the u joints this way I have heard of this beening done before.
