Replacement U-joints and ball joints.

Does anyone out there have a complete list of part numbers from any one supplier for quality replacement front end and drive line parts.

My truck is an 04 2500 CTD, 4x4, Auto Transmission, quad cab, short box.
The rear drive shaft does not have a hanger bearing.

These are the items i'd like to replace:

1. L+R Front axle outer U-joints.
2. Front L+R bearings.
3. Front Upper and Lower ball joints.
4. Front drive shaft u-joints.
5. Rear Drive shaft u-joints.

I'd like to use better quality/greasable parts which are available on-line.
I'm not looking for any sort of performance upgrades other than purchasing quality parts.

Thanks for any info.
JR.

Well, Last night i noticed both the u-joints on the rear drive shaft are toast.
So after a pretty easy phone call to NAPA auto parts, i was in possesion of two brand new u-joints.

The trouble started when i was re-assembled the u-joint into the yoke.
When i pressed the caps on enough for both the snap rings to clip into place, I can barely move the joint from side to side, correction, when both rings are in place i can't move the joint at all. If i take one or both of the clips out and tap the center of the joint in either direction the joint loosens right up, tight but movable.

This was the same case when i installed joint into the drive shaft.

How tight is a brand new u joint is supposed to be when installed?

The joints look and measure the right size. I made sure none of the needles accidentally got pressed under the cap.

Am I missing something?

use a ball pein to tap around the diameter of the shaft as close to the yoke as you can get. that will relieve any tension you induced from installing the joints. just keep banging around until it loosens up.
just dont beat the heck out of it.

I don't have part numbers, but I have the MOOG stuff installed on my truck and have had no problems as of yet.
