Awful bumpy ride!

I recently bought an 07 Mega cab 4x4 2500 5.9. It rides terrible down the interstate. Feels like it is shaking my teeth loose. No kidding. Every little bump rattles this thing. Even the steering wheel shimmies. Is this common with the dodge rams? Is there anything that can be done to smooth it out?

Ummm, no offense but it is a HD truck. Check the tire pressure, if the rear is up around 55-60psi, then the truck will ride really hard. Set the rears to 40 to 45 psi and it will help out a lot. Keep the front around 60 and the MPG 's will be ok. The ride will smooth out a bit with some miles on it too. Have fun with the new rig....

I wouldnt expect too much on the MPG's right now, how many miles do you have? and is it the 5.9 or the 6.7? The more miles on they seem to get a bit better fuel mileage but I havent heard the best for MPG's on the 6.7's. Also is it a SRW or a DRW? Might need to be loosened up a bit but also the stock shocks arent too great.

Check your tire air pressure and use what the manual for loaded and unloaded. Made a world of difference on my 04.

I believe that my Bilstien's helped my ride. lower tire pressures help greatly. Other than that, its a heavy duty solid axle truck.

And here I dont think mine drives that bad and all my tires are set at 80psi! I usually have heavy trailer on but even without it it isnt horrible. I do need shocks though that I can tell.

It is the 5.9 with SRW. Probably does need to be loosened up a bit but my F-350 never rode this rough. Was thinking going from 1 ton to 3/4 ton would make for a better ride.

What shock do you recommend? Do levelers help?

Did you do the rears as well? If so, which option?

alot of people run the bilsteins, and alot run the rancho's. I just went with one from sears because i am 2wd. It made a world of differance. The levelers dont do anything but take the rake out of the truck.
