Yeah I put a lorenz kit on my truck too and it helped... The larger tires helped too. 17 inch wheels and 315/70 tires.

It still doesn't ride like a new half ton but it doesn't beat me to death anymore.

Maybe you can try some 285/75/17 tires from Toyo or 305s (I think these fit without lift) from BFG or someone if you don't want to do suspension. Otherwise lower your tire psi some within the safety margin.

And for shocks... Bilstein shocks, I got mine from Lorenz too.

I understand they take the rake out of the truck but doesn't that also shift some of the weight towards the back?

I think you just end up getting used to it. I cam out of a Ford SD also and mine rides like a covered wagon as well. So far I've done tires, 3x, shocks, dual steering stabilizer, air bags, level kit blah, blah, blah. Still dosent ride as nice but I'm getting used to it. Tire pressures seemed to help the most. I like everything else about the truck though, especially the motor....

My truck rides like a dream compared to the kidney-destroyer Duramax I had. That thing had bouncing rubber ***** for rear shocks.

Maybe i'll throw 500 lbs in the back and see what that does. Do shocks alone make that much difference?

I must be nuts then.... Cause I thought the ride in my truck was too soft. Tire at 65 lbs front and 50 rear. The front end felt more like an suv than a real truck. Of course I had also just gotten rid of a 97 F350 crew and that thing rode like a park bench... (like a truck) and I loved every kidney popping bounce.

Maybe your leveling kit smoothed it out... Mine is still stock.

I use a mouth piece to protect my teeth. Mine is so stiff when I drive over a dime I can tell if it's heads or tails

Thats funny. I was thinking about a mouth guard while I was driving down the interstate but then I hit a french fry and lost my train of thought... Thanks for reminding me. Lol

The leveling kit actually has coils that are 6% stiffer than stock ones, it made the front end tighter and more along the line of what I'm used too. The truck was too soft for me when it was stock, felt kinda mushy, and the body rolled too much in turns (and I drive like an old lady, or so I'm told). The leveling kit helped tighten things up and reduce body roll.
