auto tranny shifting
Tonight on my way home, I shifted my truck (4 speed auto, guess I need to edit my sig) manually at WOT, and I was unclear about what happened.( This is the first time that I did it in this truck) From dead stop-1st, normal, 1st -2nd, normal, but when I got close to 3K in 2nd, it shifted on it's own, (I assume TC lock-up), and when I went to 3rd, (D) it seemed to over-rev, like the trans shifted out of the TC lock up back into 2nd before it went into 3rd. Didn't feel like it was slipping, I'm stock except for air and exhaust, so not enough power for that. So, my question is... Was that the TC locking up on its own, or something else? Or am I just a
?
I've never manually shifted before because I think that I'm close enough to my redline with it shifting normally in drive, and it won't do any good anyhow.
Man, I need some mods!!! Still waiting on gauges, DieselManor messed up my order, but they are being really good about making it right. I'd do bidness with them again.... One thing at a time for us poor folk.
TIA-

2nd gear then 2nd gear lock then 2nd gear unlock and shift up to 3rd gear. I know the trucks will lock in 2nd gear while decelerating if you pull the shift lever down to second gear so I'am assuming it will lock up in 2nd gear accelerating also at higher rpm's.
