Yikes!

On the oil, I just run Rotella. I've actually paid to have it changed once at Valvoline becuase I was in a huge hurry. Big mistake. Took just as long and cost me $80. The manager of the Valvoline place has an 04 and even working there, he said he buys the Cummins oil to put in his. He said it looks better than the others when you drain the old stuff out.

i would say that problem is not common at all. it is being fixed under warranty correct?

how has the truck been otherwise?

hello,
The truck had been great only had it for 3 weeks but you can tell it was well taken care of no holes drilled anywhere no hitches no break controller or any of that. When it all went to hell it didnt hurt aynthing else raditor is fine broke the bottom fan shroud but other than that nothing. I acutally didnt know it was broke till i popped the hood and saw it the temp never came up any above 200 the thing that tipped me off was the A/C was not working. It is all under warrantee but the thing that sucks is a dont have anything to drive an have been using my grandmas lincoln town car hahaha big difference
thanks for all the help and any more people that have had the problem i would like to hear from you
thanks again dennis

I had a blade break off on my 01 at 175000, bearing that fan ran on was also bad, but yours is a different setup than the 01

I had a fan and clutch assembly come unscrewed off the pump shaft on my "03" when I shut it off. I heard a small clunk when I shut it off didn't think much of it till I drove it again and it made a noise when I got going fast enough it would blow back and rub on the water pump. There was no damage done. The dealer put on a new fan and clutch. The old clutch was much tighter than the new one and might have contributed to it unscrewing off the pump.
