I noticed a drip from under the truck. I looked under and antifreeze was all over the pulleys and belt, as well as the alternator. I checked the top and bottom hoses and they don't seem to be leaking. It appears to be coming from below the alternator, Is this is where the water pump is located?? I have the 5.9 L, 04 engine. Does the waterpump have a weep hole? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

 

Yeah thats probally the water pump. It is located under the alternator. Its very easy to change, just two bolts i beleive. How many miles on motor?

 

Thanks, pos. I have 69,879 miles on the engine and 59 months since I got the truck new.This should be covered under the warranty.

 

Yeah i would hope so. That seems like low mileage for waterpump, but i guess it happens. Glad its warranty work. Although its not a big deal to replace if it wasnt. Good luck. Hurry to dealer fast!!
