Another injector and stranded in Corbin, Ky.

I just got off by the Loves Truck stop in Corbin with I'm sure another injector out. Fuel all over rear of truck. Stopped at this exit for fuel and noticed fuel dripping from rear of truck. Got lucky maybe, as there is a Dodge dealer about 2 miles down the road. At this point I'll drive the thing there, it's Pickard Dodge Chrysler, Jeep. Any one have any words of encourgement for me or anyone know anything about this dealer. Any hope for a mechanic that knows what he/she is doing?
And of course at the Knights Inn here the cell only works if you stand on one leg and shout. If you know something give me a call...Cell is 517-896-1572 or if I can keep piggybacking to the Fairmont Inn's wireless Internet I can get messages and if not and maybe incoming calls will work.

thanks...Don

Need to clarify, crankcase is full of diesel, leaking out of breather, pretty sure injector related. And yes, wish I had a choice, but here I sit stranded/

Wife had family from here, wish they were still here.

Anyone have any info on Pickard Dodge here in Corbin? Do they have a diesel mechanic? is he/she any good?

Anyone from this area?

Are those the stock injectors?

How many miles on them?

Is this just the second one to fail?

Are you the guy that had the tech screw up and cause the fan to spin off into the radiator?

All those fuel system parts on a stock truck - that's quite a run of bad luck!
Now that you've lost the 2nd injector, you might consider a set of aftermarket ones - it could only get better.

I know that doesn't help much when you're in Corbin, but there's always another day... this too shall pass

Yeep, that was me stranded in Flordia, at least it wasn't raining there like here. Well, Damiler Chysler showed it's true colors again, no rental assistance, no help but would note file as to problem. When I asked about the procedure I followed from the owners manual requesting a buy back, all the person on the other end of the phone could parrott was "read the blue & white owners manual". After I explained that was what I had done she even had the gaul to repeat the above. Wish I could have seen her face to face, She probably would have been embaresed.

OH WELL, injector #6, total failure, Parts ordered from DC, should be there tomorrow around 2pm. Truck is apart and per mechanic should be ready by 4 or so provided part arrives. One more night in this motel, guess it's better than by the side of the road.

Gueess I will have to contact a Lemon Law attorney. Enough is enough. I tried dealing with this dealer to just buy a new truck and take my losses but think his pricing was a little steep. He never did give me a definate price but looked like he was selling for around $40k and offering $22K trade. Kinda out of my ballpark I guess. Maybe my son in Michigan can get something going for me.....I know he can get better pricing, thats for sure.

Thanks for the concerns and hopefully on the road tomorrow.

Yeah, still under 7/70 warranty. and still have the Cummins 5/100 Cummins no charge and 7/100 $100 copay. I'm at 52000 today. Injector is under the Cummins no charge part.

Left dealer slightly after 6 Pm last night, Tuesday. Stopped around 10 in middle Ohio and got home a little after noon today. Truck ran OK, not great but OK. Stink from diesel fuel was quite bothersome though. (Dealer did no clean up at all). One thing now, got 18+ MPG going down from Jackson Mi to Nashvillke Tenn, only got 16 MPG returning from after injector replacement. Now the fun begains, trying to get to someone at Daimler Chrysler. This may be just starting but I can be persistant.

Probably can't lemon it as I posted earlier as I bought it in Michigan under an employee pricing plan, there fore unbenknown to me when signing the purchase agreement I waived my rights to Lemon Law and signed to agree to binding arbitration. Lawyer I spoke to was farmiluiar with this Chrysler tatic and told me that no one yet had taken time to challenage legality of it but yes I'm taking it to whatever level I can. I am negotating with a lawyer to see what it will cost me if DC chooses to ignore my second letter.

As far as Lemon qualifaction I more than meet the criteria but as above.

I just can't trust this truck any more and need to have something dependable. I have no problem with Dodge per say, just this truck.

Also while I was searching for DC phone numbers I found this, don't know how much truth there is but very interesting reading. I agree with some of the feelings stated. Interesting reading to say the least.
