Amsoil oil w/ leaks?

I'm finally @ the mileage to change to Amsoil synthetic motor oil, but I have a ? first. For any of you running Amsoil, does your engine leak oil since you changed over? I was reading somewhere that alot of people were having this problem after converting, so I was wondering if is a problem I should expect to see? TIA

I bought my truck about 2 years ago and the previous owner ran Amsoil since almost new and I have continued to run Amsoil thru out and have had no leaks, currently at 85,000 miles plus. I have read on this forum that the higher mileage rigs tend to have leaks when changing over. Hope this helps.

At 15k miles, I changed to Amsoil, a Donaldson EA oil filter and a FS-2500 by-pass oil filter. I have had no leaks what so ever. PCM

I also changed to amsoil 15w-40 at about 40,000 miles (from premium blue synthetic) and I've never had a leak. Truck is 2003 305/555.

That makes 0-leaks/ 3-no leaks. I feel better, thanks!

Amsoil in the engine, transmission, rearend, with an amsoil oil and air filter, No leaks in any and the transmission oil makes for much smoother shifts in my truck! Will be going to amsoil antifreeze and brake fluid soon.

There is a common misconception with synthetic oils, that if you switch over to synthetic on a high mileage engine, it will cause seals to crack and leak. This is not true, if you use a pre-cleaning product like Amsoil's engine flush before doing the switch over to amsoil, but this is only for high mileage engines. If you don't have high miles, feel free to switch with no engine flush, and it will be just fine. I've been running Amsoil in my truck for about 30k with no problems.

Yup. it does quiet the motor down quite a bit
You'd know it if you had a leak.

Yes, it stinks! HOWEVER, it will go away by aobut 500 or so miles. Mine is that way at each oil change.
