AMSOIL change over

I have 15K on my '04 HO and would like to change the motor over to AMSOIL 15-40. My mechanic feels I should wait another 10K to 15K miles befor I change over.

I have read here and on the TDR that people are changing over even sooner than 15K.

Any comments??

Don't wait do it now. Mine (done by 1st owner) was done at 3k. A bit too early to suit me, but I was sure glad to see it in there.

I would say you could go ahead & change to synthetic if you have worked it some, it should be broken in. If you have not worked it at all, you might consider waiting another 5k or so. just my opinion

I have been changing to the non Dino oil at 500 miles for almost 20 years now. Not one engine related problem ever.
