Here is the thing with Amsoil 5w-40, its designed of for the 2007+ engines, and while it can be run in the older enignes it doesn't have the service life of the HDD or AME...

Pick the HDD or AME and run it, year round... The HDD has a lower number on the bottle but amsoil claims it outperforms the AME in all temps and conditions.. guess well see if my oil analysis agrees.

Been running the 5-30 HDD for 84k-----change filter and add a qt at 10k change at 20k. Could go longer but makes me feel better.

I just turned 149,000 miles and have been running Amsoil since about 24,000 miles. No problems so far. Even with the 110 plus temps here in Phoenix, I don't see problems with oil pressure.

I decided to go with the HDD 5-30 and do oil analysis every 10k miles. I am also going with the Amsoil aeo full flow filter and the their bypass filter. I will switch over as soon as I get the bypass filter installed. I am going to be real interested to see if the lighter weight synthetic oil makes any difference in my fuel mileage.
