Re:Which Amsoil

We have run the 15-40 Diesel/Marine oil in both engines 91/2001, transmission only has 1 choice and run 85-140 series 2000 gear oil with no additive. T case if you have one is same oil as tranny. PK

Re:Which Amsoil

I found the Amsoil website somehow and they have a tech line. Sent my specs to them with what I wanted to do and had an answer the same day. Flush is easy but they don't have auto trans fluid for the'02 :'( :'(

Re:Which Amsoil

Now all y'all just don't understand , don't get Don started. He will burn your key board and cause the monitor to "BUST". Just stay calm and easy and don't start nuttin.

As far as Amsoil goes I've used it 3 years with no ill affects. Matter of fact it has done quite well. If you trust the oil analysis my engine oil last 50K, w/ the dual bypass and I change it. Not neccesary they say but I do anyway. So far the engine is at 256K and still runnin. I tow 15K all the time. The gear oil is the best on the market. Series 2000 I mean. Anyway its blue, and I like blue.

Now what?

..Preston..

Re:Which Amsoil

Hey Turbo T, I ran the same oil in my 89 for four and a half years, 60000 miles with the dual remote and sampling. Traded it four years ago this month on my 99 and the 89 is still going strong. It had over 142000 when traded.
I will more than likely stick with 25000 mile change on this truck since I have upped the HP a skosh. That is probably overkill but I don't feel bad about that interval. I change the main filter every 5000 and the bypass filter every oil change (at 25k intervals).
Just what works for me.
