ok so i was driving the truck in the snow today and the alternator started to squeel if i lube it up it will stop for about a minute and then start again! is there anyway to fix this or do i need a new alternator? is there a replacement bearing of some sort. by the way the truck only has 72000 miles on it thanks

 

The squeel could be from the belt slipping on the pully. Make sure the belt tension is tight. Could be the idle tensioner is failing.

no tension is tight i looked up on here and i believe the pulley is bad there is a dealer tsb on it but thanks for the help

 

I thought i had a similar problem. Put new bearing in idler pulley, used half a can of belt dressing and ended up just needin to put a new belt on and that took care of it

 

it actually fixed itself which was sweet! no more noisemight have been from the cold?
