Air Filter

I have a 2006 3500 CTD. I want to change the air filter from the stock version to something else. In my 97 CTD I used a K&N, but this forum doesn't rate them as very good. So this time I want to buy the right filter. There's all kinds of them out there. So I'd appreciate a recommendation from all you long time diesel owners.

Check out the AMSOIL Ea nano filter. It's a drop in replacement that is 100,000 mi and cleaned by vacuuming/blowing it every 25,000 mi.

No, I don't sell Amsoil or anything else.

Cheers
Mike

Listen man, there isn't a THING wrong with the K&N Filters OR kits...If anybody on here thinks that they have substantial evidence of K&N being no good, bring out the recalls and all the information inbetween...until then, tell it to my dad that K&N sucks...he has been using nothing BUT K&N on his 99' and is well over 450,000 on his truck now. I just recharged mine and thought I would give some benefit of the doubt to the people in here that complain about K&N not being good enough and felt the inside of the intake tube and inspected the props on my turbo and there was ZERO evidence of any grit, dust or excessive oil. If you follow the steps on the maintenance of your filters, you will notice that they are still a VERY reputable corporation. They have been making good products for longer than anybody in here has owned any of their trucks...I think that people are just trying to condone spending an extra $200+ on the bandwagon name brands. I ran AFE and it was a good filter, no doubt, but the turbo whine was just too loud for my tastes, so I switched up to the K&N...I am perfectly happy with it.

Talking Air Filters

Even though I don't have one yet on my truck, I believe I'll go with a BHAF with a Outerwares cover. Some of the oil type filters may be ok, but I just don't want the hassle of cleaning it. "Chunk it" and stick a new one on and go .
