aero drone

I was wondering about the aero 40/40xl with resonator and why is drone present with a resonated muffler. I've heard the video clips and thats what i like but Idon't want the drone. what has anyone done after the install with this muffler to get rid of the drone? Maybe add another seperate resonator before or after the 40/40xl?

has anyone left the cat on then replaced the stock muffler with the 40/40xl and good luck with no drone?

There's no drone with the 4040XL.

Did you leave the cat in place or take it out?

I used to have one. Terrible drone, I even had the muffler shop put a seperate resonator in front of it, and still had the drone. I now have a MBRP, and it is a little bit better, but not much when towing.

Drone is a low frequency noise that is very irritating, if you had it you would know it. Under load it can rattle your bones.

I saw a video on youtube that had the 4040xl with no cat and it was the best sounding 3rd gen I have heard.

drone from a 4040xl is intolerable for those that tow like stated the 51" donaldson muffler for people who tow is the only good one.
