Additive

What kind of additive is everyone running? I used Howes in my pete with a cat and it worked pretty good, but just wondering what everybody else is doing.

I run no additive. Cummins says you don't need it. So far trouble free at 67,000 miles on the original injectors.

OH NO!! Not another additive thread...

they all seem to be the same, i have ran Howes, PS, 2 stroke oil. I seem to run whatever is on sale. I think it does help smooth out things with the new ULSD. you know what really works is transmission fluid, just ask my father in law,

I havent put any additives in my fuel yet but I only have 6500 miles. I have a friend with an 06 and he puts transmission fluid in his. He said the mechanic at the dealership told him to do this. Any thought on this? Thanks.

I run that white bottle from a company I`ve never heard of. 1/2 bottle per fill up, starts faster, runs like the old diesel fuel did...I heard that the seal and the injector pump are more prone to problems with the new low sulfur sheat, this is supposed to even the score.

anyone ever try k-1?

I use Power Service in the gray bottle - 1/2 bottle per tank.

BTW - just had a thought - if you use ATF, and you get stopped and your tank gets dipped for offroad fuel, will they nail you because the ATF is red?

I have heard that, but you would end up winning after they tested it. just not worth the hassle, plus i think there is absolutely no benefit, probably more harm using. but what do i know, just not goin in my trk

Has anyone had a complete fuel injection cleaning? And if so did it really make an appreciable difference?

1/2 a bottle of ps and one quart of 2 stroke every fillup, every ten tanks or so I run just the white bottle to make sure I am not over concentrating the 2 stroke in the tank due to partially empty tanks on fillup. the 2 stroke really quiets things down. Since gettin my quad box back I think I am getting better milage finally, last tank was the first on to break over 400 miles in a long time.
