89 INCH pounds

I am installing the injector bolts, and it calls to torque them to 89 inch pounds. I only have a torque wrench that goes to 10 FOOT lbs. and obviously 89 inch pounds equals a little more than 7 foot pounds. can I just tighten them to 10? or will that be too much.

I assume you mean that the LOWEST marking on your torque wrench is 10 lbs. Not knowing what kind of torque wrench you have, or how accurate it is, I would be concerned about how well calibrated it is at the lowest end of its range. That, plus you are talking about a 35% over torque as well.

In your position, I would run out and buy a torque wrench calibrated in inch pounds.

My $0.02.

Injector installation, proper tools, hummin Cummins.
Priceless!

Sorry if I offended anyone with this, but there is nothing like doing it right. Over and under torquing can cause all kinds of problems. Some people luck out and never have an issue. Is $$$ for repair worth the hassle of wondering if you cracked something or did they seat properly? Probably not.
