5.9 Vs 5.9 High Output

i have a 1999 2500 with a standard 5.9 cummins,and i'm buying a 2005 3500 with the 5.9 h.o.what is the the difference between the 5.9 vs the 5.9 H.O.

10 hp and a 6 speed tranny. The injector pump is a little different.

That '05 will be rated at 325HP and 610 LB*Ft, I believe. I'm not sure of the specs on your '99.

yes,i've been told that they,(the 5.9 H.O) were only sold in select states,and in selct configurations,but that me be inncorrect?

i think it was like 5 states they did not sell them in, california, maine, mass., new york, and vermont for some clean air reason.

99 were rated at 235HP and 460FT-LB
they had VP-44 injector pump

05 were rated at 325 and 610
with the commen rail

my brother owns a 99.. my 05 has way more power

After January of 2004 the high outputs were certified 50 state emissions legal and were available in Cali. Anything manufactured after Jan '04 is a HO.
