4x4 grinding normal?

4x4 grinding normal?

when i shift into 4H no problem
but when going into 4L i follow procedure 2-5 mph put in N firmly shift to 4L put back in D,
when i firmly shift to 4L there is a sound that makes me think its not normal... its not extreemly loud it just does not sound right anyone else have this is it really normal as dodge says it is?

they will make a little noise when you put in 4low,but never really herd any while driving. not over about 15mph in the pasture though.

2-5 might be a little fast...

Try shifing into low with the vehicle just barely moving.

Mine did the same thing before I realized that I was shifting between 4h-4L too slow. You have to make the shift firm and fast. Same with going from 4L-4H.

also make sure you are not in gear or park. i always shift at a stand still and never had any grinding. should i be moving slow rather than sitting still?

yep, it will grind if you take your time, bang that sucker in gear
