I have a manual shift on floor transfer case, a few weeks ago shifted out of 4hi into 2hi and dash indicator stayed on 4wd, truck is not in 4wd (checked that). Sometimes when driving on a bumpy road light will Flicker off. I assume it is a sensor on the transfer case? Haven't crawled under yet, wanted to see if anyone else has seen this before.

 

I have a two-wheel drive truck and my four-wheel drive lite comes on about once every six months for a few seconds....weird. Never been able to explain it. Started happening after 9 years or 120K miles.

Likely a chaffed wire in a connector or wire pack. Get a hold of a wiring diagram and start tracing wires. A multimeter ought to help.

Also, what condition are your batteries in? Any other weird electrical occurrences?
