Sounds like you guys may have a slightly different problem.
Keep in mind, it takes a special reader to be able to see trouble codes from the transfer case control module and possibly the transmission control module as well.
As a side note, I can still shift the transfer case and use 4wd if I get into a pinch. I removed the shift motor leave it off most of the time. I can then climb under the truck and rotate the shaft with a cressent wrench. Takes a little playing around to figure out which position is which but it works.

Well, I listened to the shift motor this morning and it's going into 4hi and back to 2wd with no problem......it just won't go into 4lo.....obviously this is a shift motor problem for me??
