48RE Trans cooler

Does my 2500 SO have the same trans cooling as a 3500 HO dually would have? Does it just go through the radiator or does it have an external one also? Any need to add a 2nd external one or replace the stock one with a larger one from B&M or FlexAlite or PermaCool if hauling heavy loads? If so, are there any that are "direct fit" ?

It has an external cooler.....Outside going towards engine 1st the airconditioner 2nd intercooler 3rd tranny cooler under it the power steering cooler then the radiator. It should have all it needs the way it is.

Yup. Your truck should be just fine. Get under it and follow the tranny lines. Mine goes into a heat exchanger first which puts heat from tranny fluid into the engine coolant. That is on the driver's side rear of the engine. Then the fluid goes into a huge cooler that the post above describes. so we all should have 2 tranny coolers. plenty
