48re Tranny Concern

How tough is a 48re? I want to pull a shed this weekend at a pull. I just have a programmer with air intake and exhaust. All the guys I know pull with duramax engines and tell me the stock 48re will fall flat on its face.

Is the 48re stock? If so, I think the main thing to consider is what the programmer is set to. I pull 10K regularly no concerns or burnt ATF on a stock 48re. I have a Smarty POD S06 set to: sw1/tq1/tm2 when towing.

I have no expert, but more power and pure stock tranny can cause no-go problems. Have fun and be safe!

I'm no expert at pulling, but if the wheel speeds up you may be ok. Otherwise, you may need a casket for the 48re. Flex plate is not up to par nor is the imput shaft. Torque converter is no much better.

You should post this down in the pullin section. General area. Those guys don't come up this way to much.
