48re shift kit

I bought a transgo shift kit to buy me some time so I can decide what all I'm going to do to my tranny. My question is, on the directions it says to drill 2 holes to increase lockup pressure BUT if you are putting a multi-disc converter in, skip this step SO if I drill these holes now to help keep my stock tranny from slipping will it be too harsh of a lockup with my new triple disc converter? Also is there a inspection plate or someway to see what shape my tranny is in before I go to the trouble. I have overhauled auto trannies before but this is my first 48re.

Thanks

I put a suncoast 5 disk converter in a dtt trans, man did it ever lock up hard. Dtt uses single disk conveters.
