Hi everyone. The 48re in my truck is rattling and it seems to be getting worse. It happens when I shift from park to reverse or reverse to drive. It was just a quick rattle at first and I thought the cat might have failed but it’s getting louder and more frequent. Anyone had a similar issue or idea what it is? I’m worried she is due for a rebuild and about to crap the bed on me.

I assume the rubber transmission mount is intact......Ben

did you check the transmission liquid ?

I have had the steady bearing fail twice on my driveshaft (bad u-joint took out the steady bearing the second time). Check that?
