It will not rub the body or fender wells with the stock wheels. Mine did and still do rub the control arms at lock. When I feel them rub I just back off the wheel a little.

Ditto.
I really can hardly feel it rub, it is so light. No problems at all with the 315s and they look soooooo much better than the stock tires. Check out my pics....

question for you guys. Everyone seems to be runing those h2/315 combos on the 3rd gens. Can you put them on a 2nd gen too? I have a 2inch lift and the ability to machine the rims.
Thanks

Captain, I'm sure you can. I ran 33/12.5-16.5s on my stock 92 CTD with no lift and no rubbing issues at all. These trucks sit so high that a lift is not necessary until you go to 35s or taller...

No rubbing on my '04.5 with H2's /315's. Suspension totally stock. A co-worker's got 315's on stock rims and a 2" leveling kit, his front tires rub at full lock. I think that raising the front with a leveling kit (spring spacers), pull the front wheels back just enough to cause rubbing. My theory is that this change in geometry also contributes to the dreaded death wobble, he's got it, I don't.

the wifes all stock and no rubbing at all forward ... very faint rubbing (can't feel it, but can see the scuffs on the control arms) when backing at full lock

and the bfgs ride great!

If you put any type of lift kit on the truck will that in eliminate tire rub of any kind including the control arms. I have been considering a 2" lift for my truck and am slowly looking into information on what is the best way to do the lift. As a second question, I would ask for advice on what members think is the best way to do a 2" lift.

Drafter, not so. As stated in my above post, my tires still rub the control arms a little at lock. As for the best way to do a 2" lift, I paid the $100.00 to have them installed.

315's

I installed 315 BFG at about 2000 miles and had very little rub. I did place 2" lift on front a while back.

I put the 315's on mine since 1500 miles and now have 15K miles. I have never noticed any kind of rubbing with the stock suspension. I was going to add leveling springs to mine, but after hearing about the "death wobble" problems I think I won't "fix" what isn't broken. The 315's are a great tire though and make the truck look tough over those puney stock tires.

I have the BFG 315/70R/17 on my 2500 4x4. I do have a Daystar 2" Leveling Kit(Spacer). I had Rancho 9000X shocks and Rancho 5000 Steering Stabilizer added when I put on the 315s. I used the stock off road Dodge rim (17x8). I have no problem with rubbing on or off road. I do not have any issues with "Death Wobble". I believe that the shocks and steering stabilizer are the key to my combination. Stock shocks/steering stabilizer are not very good.

The ride with the new (bigger) tires and shocks is much better on and off road.

I definitely recommend replacing stock shocks/steering stabilizer when going to bigger tires.
