305's on a dually
305's on a dually
Hey guys,
I ran across a guy the other day that has an 03 dually like mine and he's running 305 Pro Comp all terrains on stock wheels. He said he's run 305s for yrs and hasn't had any issues. I would think that 305's are way to wide for stock 03 wheels but his tires looked like they where wearing great. He said that he rotates them at about 3000 miles. So are any of you guys running 305's on stock wheels and if ya are how about some pics?
Thanks,
Topper

I have Toyo 285/70R17's on my dually and even they are crowned a bit, but they are still wearing fairly evenly. I don't have spacers right now but should have at least 1/2" spacers put in, so 305's will definitely need spacers.
I've got an '06 with 35-12.50x17 Mud terrains. I have a 2" bolt on spacer and I've got about inch of clearance between the tires.
Depending on the brand (some run a little smaller) the 305's might fit without spacers depending on the profile height, but they would definitely rub a little and cause some heat (very likely to cause a blow-out) I used to run a wheel and tire shop and the best thing in your case would be to run a 1/2" plate spacer in between the wheels. This is the safest and easiest way. My 2" spacers are bolted on to the inside wheel, then they have 8 more lugs attached to it that the outside wheel bolts on. This ends up yielding 16 lug-nuts per rear wheel.
Hope this information helps!

THANKS for the replies,
I should have added that the guy had spacers. I was more concerned about the tire wear issue. I thought that the wheels would be to skinny for the tires in a 305 range.
Thanks again,
