2nd Gear Seems to be Acting Wierd????

2003 dodge 4x4 2500 HO autamatic, I believe its a 48RE

Never had a tranny problem until a few days ago and last night.

A few days ago i started driving and my truck would go up to about 2500 or so rpm's before it would shift into second. The i would keep it at about 35-40mph and it would shift back and forth from 1st and 2nd gear.

I drove like that for about 3 miles then parked the truck for a few hrs.

Started the truck back up later and it acted completly normal for about 2 days.

last night i go to start the truck up after i had been driving around in it severals times that day. When i gave it gas it was moved very slow like it was starting in 2nd or 3rd gear. it finally downshifted and started doin the thing it did a few days ago. 1st 2nd 1st 2nd...well i took it down the highway and got up to a higher speed and it shifted into 3rd and 4th gear perfect fine.

Any ideas?

Search "shuttle shifting". Notorious issue with these trucks, and about 100 bucks in sensors is the usual fix for these trucks.
