Question Heater vents/controls acting wierd???

When I first turn on the heater it will blow through the vents in the dash but after a minute it changes to the defroster. Than all I can get it to do is the defroster no matter what setting, vent heat or defrost. Any ideas?

Mine doesn't move at all. I think I have a leak. Yours seems to have enough to move.
Does your brake light come on while you are stopped at a red light?

DC, it sounds liek you ahve a vacum problem under the dash.. "vent " is the default position.. so if it will move to defrost, you have some vacum.. i would check all teh vacum connections , starting with the ones exposed down by the floor. then I'd check the vacum plug on the rear of teh heater control head. It has a weird clip that holds it on, so you cant jsut oull it off, you need to remove the clip first...pull a vacum thruogh each of them and see where your leak is.
