24v into an 06 Ram?

I'm looking at a 2006 with a bad engine. The truck is 5 hours away so I'd like to make a deal on the spot and I'm trying to gather information.

i know those trucks a bit but I'm wondering if I can use a 24v block to replace the block in this truck? I understand that I'd need to swap over the pistons and massage a coolant passage. Please note: this is not designed to be a performance mod - I just want to price out an engine replacement and I'm wondering about this route.

thanks in advance for your answers
